Save the pigeon racing from bird flu and supports the scientific research of the FCI…

The year 2017 will go down as the year the world where bird flu docked with the international pigeon racing shackles, in the history of the pigeon sport. In order to save the growers around the world in the future such restrictions, the international pigeon breeders association FCI organized a crowdfunding action to prove that pigeons can not be infected by avian influenza.

1. Why Crowdfunding?

This crowdfunding campaign of FCI (international pigeon breeders association) has to ensure the objective of the future of pigeon racing. Last year, we were confronted with avian influenza or bird flu worldwide. For this reason, the FCI wants to prove through scientific research that pigeons can not be infected by avian influenza.

2. context

It is generally expected that the avian flu will continue to be a threat to the pigeon sport in the coming years. The future of pigeon racing looks characterized by increasingly ominous. During an outbreak of avian influenza on the authorities concerned namely adopt measures by which all activities that are associated with the pigeon sport, be temporarily prohibited. It is among others this the below activities:

Training flights and flights price
Organizing Taubenausstelllungen and pigeons fairs (such as Kassel, Fugare, but also Olympiads)
pigeons transport

Avian influenza has claimed all those who have something to do with poultry, their customs, and that did not benefit the image of the pigeon. The risk that the avian influenza virus spreading to humans, forcing the authorized authorities to take drastic measures. There is no single scientific proof, however, that pigeons were ever infected with the virus or have passed it. In addition, it is very unlikely, according to scientific studies that pigeons are susceptible to the avian influenza virus.

3. How?

The FCI will take up the fight with the avian influenza and conduct scientific tests to prove that pigeons can not be infected by avian influenza. These tests must be conducted in an objective, professional and scientific manner, and they must prove that pigeons are immune to avian influenza.

Simply that is certainly not in view of the fact that the avian influenza virus can mutate over time. For this reason, the possibility remains that more research is needed in the future to prove that the pigeon is not receptive to new types of avian influenza virus.

4. target

The tests are an important step in the right direction, but they are not cheap, and the FCI itself does not have sufficient funds to pay for the tests. Therefore it is the aim of this crowdfunding to collect 60,000 EUR within a period of 30 days. Every euro counts. You can thus contribute to the future of pigeon racing. The only thing you need to do is to transfer an amount that you choose your favorite.

You can transfer your donation by clicking here and in the open window on the right button donate 'now’ clicking.

The donations will be transferred to the new fund for scientific studies of the FCI.

The pigeon sport thanks for the time being for your willing cooperation!
