Andreas Möller – the one loft specialist…

Andreas Möller can look back on top performances in various one-loft races. After the end of the RV trip for work-related reasons, the focus was placed on taking part in international grandstand flights.
The breeding base initially consisted of pigeons that had bred successful RV program pigeons. These were then tested for years and three families have prevailed. The NL - 5011 JEROENS FAVORIET by Jeroen van de Kooy, who brought top sires with nine different hens, who then bred winners and ace pigeons in OLR races. Second, the NL - 8717 by Jan Lotterman, a daughter of BRANCO JUNIOR. The 508 by Johann Zeuner is considered a match for these two sires – an inbred bird very close to the Wittenbuik by Gaby Vandenabeele. In recent years, introduced originals by Hubert Borker, Jan Hooymans and Reinhard Gebhardt have proven to be very good breeding pigeons. Great importance is attached to the fact that new products come from the best families with a high power density.

The mating takes place immediately after Christmas. The youngsters of the first breed go to various derbies in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Croatia in March.
The second breed will be sent to the races in Portugal and Spain in May. But the derbies in Thailand, South Africa and Zimbabwe are also successfully taken part.
Since the youngsters are only about 40 days on their birth loft, special attention is paid to perfect care during these important weeks. The animals should grow up perfectly and organs, bones, feathers and muscles should develop as best as possible.

Andreas swears by the regular gift of Tricom Mauserhilfe. And not only during the moulting, but also during the rearing of the young pigeons, because this is where feathers are formed that decide between victory and defeat.
There is a mix of fresh every day Klaus Gritstein, Pico Carbon and PicMix, This mixture is fed in the feeding trough and regularly removed before it absorbs moisture.
The OLR specialist rarely visits the vet. The youngsters receive the prescribed Paramyxo vaccination at the age of 30 days and then go to the races in the various countries at the age of 40 - 50 days.

Andreas Möller describes his breeding goal as follows:
“We all need pigeons with a strong immune system that are seldom lost during the acclimatization phase, that recover quickly after exertion, that orientate themselves quickly, are self-confident and fly alone without fear and, above all, keep fighting when the going gets tough and the first competitors already take a break. For me, final flights over 400 or 500 km with normal courses and 8-10 hours on the wing are meaningful. "
The committed breeder proves again and again with his top performance that he is on the right track with the quality of his breeding pigeons and the varied diet.
“The first 40 days of a carrier pigeon's life are crucial. It could only become champions with appropriate care ”, is Andreas Möller's conviction.
