New film: BAS & GERARD VERKERK – The heroes from Reeuwijk!

The sympathetic father-son impact community Gerard and Bas Verkerk is the personification of the 'American Dream' in pigeon racing. Bas' vision and the meticulous execution with father Gerard led to outstanding performances in Alphen a/d Rijn and led to the inimitable results that they realized on their grandiose loft facility in the middle of the lakes around Reeuwijk.

In order to achieve top results, a good shot is also important. The new shots, which were built on the basis of our own experience, are gradually being improved.

Bas has developed its own vision of the lining: traditional and modern. It's traditional in the sense that he uses two mixes that he feeds from the beginning of the week until basketing. Modern in the sense that the grains and seeds used and the analytical values of the mixtures are perfectly adapted to the needs of modern racing pigeons. After the successful joint development of our innovative seed mixture BEYERS Premium Seeds Exclusive, Bas turned to our feed specialists to improve his own mixtures. The result of this collaboration with these highly successful breeders is now available to breeders worldwide in the form of two premium blends:

BEYERS Premium Verkerk is an easy-to-use system with two mixtures, which is complemented by an ideal extra for the pigeons, which can be ideally complemented by BEYERS Premium Exclusive seeds, so it can be received perfectly to the changing needs of pigeons during the racing season. TRAVEL SYSTEM
It is played on total widowhood. The pigeons are basketed every week from May to August. This means that they are played alternately on the middle distance and on the one-day long distance (= ±600 km) for 22 weeks in a row. Males and females get the same food composition. By the way, pigeons must always have enough to eat, says Bas. 'Enough' means giving plenty and taking away the rest, especially at night. The pigeons are fed twice a day. Females and youngsters are fed in a communal feeding trough. The birds get the food in their cell. They get so much that there is some left over so they can eat all day. For the sake of completeness, it must be said that BEYERS Premium Seeds Exclusiv are always mixed with the feed (5%). After training at the house, they get a handful of these. The youngsters get the same food and are also fed. But beware: playing with youngsters does not enjoy the same attention as playing with old birds.
